Organic pies & pasties

The Pies and Pasties without the nasties  Cheddar Leek & Mushroom pastie
If you want to eat ethically it's easy when you've got time to cook at home, but (almost) impossible when you're out and about or haven't got the time. You end up either taking bags of sandwiches everywhere (like Nat does) or choosing from a range of over-processed and unethical options on menus or shop shelves.

We thought the worst culprits for being both artificial and unethical were pies and pasties, which gave us the idea for creating "pies & pasties without the nasties". The aim was to create lovely savouries with Organic meat fillings and vegetarian fillings great enough to convert meat eaters to a few more meat-free meals every week.

We believe in eating Organic meat and cheese or none at all so we  only use Organic free range Welsh meat or Welsh cheese. No battery Chicken. No factory farmed Pork. No beef or lamb fed with antibiotics or growth hormones or kept in restricted shelter in Winter.

We only use Organic flour, margarine, salt & water in our pastry. No stabilisers, relaxants, improvers, or hydrogenated fats. Unlike almost all other pie-makers we make all our pastry ourselves from scratch and we use less fat than traditional recipes.

We only use Organic vegetables and nothing artificial. No genetically modified vegetables. Massively reduced pesticide traces. No MSG or artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.

Varieties:  Cheddar, Leek & Mushroom;  Butter Bean, Caerffili & Spinach;   Cannellini, Courgette & Sundried Tomato;  Steak, Mushroom & Mustard;  Chicken, Leek & Garlic; Welsh Pork Sausage Roll
